If there’s one thing most people do when I mention I love apple cider vinegar, it’s scrunch their face and say “yuck.”
I know, I know, apple cider vinegar is an acquired taste, but more than that though, it is one of my crunchy remedy staples! With its powerful healing compounds, it provides numerous benefits. Below are three ways I use apple cider vinegar:
- Any time I’ve had an upset stomach, stomach bug, cold, sniffle, or headache, I take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar straight down the hatch. If apple cider vinegar alone is too pungent for you, boil a cup of hot water, add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of lemon, and a teaspoon of honey and drink the concoction within fifteen to twenty minutes. Thanks to ACV’s vitamins and acetic acid, it’s a great natural cure and usually combats even the slightest tickle in my throat before it starts- as most germs can’t survive in an acidic environment.
2. It seems like anytime I want to purchase an All-Purpose cleaner, no matter the brand, it has harsh chemicals and a list of ingredients that are more harmful than helpful; so, because of this I use ACV as an all-purpose cleaner. All it takes 1 part water, 1 part apple cider vinegar, and I add a few drops of lavender oil for a clean refreshing scent in an empty spray bottle.
3. Does your little one suffer from an occasional diaper rash? Keep diaper rashes at bay by diluting apple cider vinegar with water in a perineal bottle. With every diaper change, dab little one’s bottom with a clean cloth and the ACV water solution. Pat dry with another clean cloth. Tip: Add coconut oil before putting a new diaper.
